ETHRA Public Transit is a rural and public
demand response transportation program designed
to help citizens in a sixteen county area meet their
needs. These counties are Anderson, Blount,
Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen,
Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott,
Sevier and Union. ETHRA Public Transit provides
door to door, non-emergency transportation service including accessibility to persons with disabilities.
Anyone can ride.
ETHRA Public Transit reservations are made on a first come first serve basis. Customers should call 1.800.232.1565 to schedule a trip at least 3 business days in advance. Requests made after the 48 hours will be considered based on available space. Passengers should be ready for pick up at least thirty minutes before scheduled pick up time. Due to time and distance customers may be asked to be ready up to one hour plus driving time before appointment time.

Customers should ask their driver for a return
pickup card before leaving the vehicle. This card
has the driver’s name and the phone number to
call when the customer is ready for pickup. ETHRA
Public Transit has a window of pickup time which is
as follows: Vehicles will not be considered late until
one hour plus driving time after the scheduled time
for pick up. Every effort will be made to notify the
customer if the driver is running beyond this window
of pick up due to uncontrolled circumstances.
In order to insure timeliness of service, drivers will
minutes at the pick up location. After five minutes the customer will be considered a no-show. Cancellations should be made at least two hours before the scheduled
pick up or return pick up time. If a trip is not canceled
it will be considered a no-show and the customer will
be responsible to pay for the trip even though they
did not ride. Customers transported under contract (TennCare, Family First, Job Access, etc.) will be
given three no-showtrips. After three no-show trips
are recorded future transit needs will be canceled
until further notice.
